Ms. Ashperger began her career in 1981 as a member of an experimental group The Relatively Free Group Jardin, whose mandate was to bring together different genre and media. During this period she also performed a wide range of roles in theatre (Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Lady Ann in Richard III, Mrs. Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, Eve Harrington in Applause, Greta in Bent to name only a few), and many leading roles in film and television. In Canada, Ms. Ashperger worked as a freelance actor for several years before turning to an ongoing investigation of actor training technique and academic pursuits. Her Canadian theatre credits include working with many independent companies such as Volcano Theatre, The April Productions, Snap Productions, World Miracle Theatre Company, The Sarajevo Collective, Native Earth Theatre, and Video-Cabaret.
Her film and TV credits in Canada include Zone of Separation, Degrassi the Next Generation, Wonderland, Blue Murder, The Guardian, Chasing Cain, Foreign Objects, The City, Blizzard, Hidden Agenda, Tekwar, Robo Cop, Top Cop, Dead Ringers, and Ford: The Man and The Machine. In 2003, Ms. Ashperger returned to Croatia to shoot a lead in a feature titled Accidental Traveling Companion. -
