With more than 12 years of experience in public finance, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the k.i.d.s. team.Michael has been the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Georgetown Schools for about seven years.Prior to joining the District, Michael was an Auditor in Charge for the Auditor of State's Office for five years.In this capacity, he performed and managed other's performance of state and local audits, including hundreds of hours of school audits.Michael's past technical experience as well at his working knowledge of State audits makes him an extremely valuable addition to the k.i.d.s. organization.

District treasurer Michael Ashmore said the compromise package reached between the school district and the OSFC still leaves the project at about ,1.2 million over budget.

The state commission, however, is allowing the district to go forward with the project, believing the district has made a good faith effort to trim the excess from its budget.

"The OSFC would not have let us accept these bids if they felt we had not done necessary budget adjustments," said Ashmore.

Michael Ashmore, GEVS treasurer, said the state would fund 78-80 percent of Georgetown's project which is estimated to be $20 million.He would not estimate how many mills it would cost tax payers, preferring to wait for an official figure from the county.
