Fay Ashline, manager of radiology services at CVPH Medical Center, pauses from her duties at the Women's Imaging Center. Ashline has worked at the hospital for 46 years and has no immediate plans for retirement as she continues to help the hospital convert to a fully digital unit.

PLATTSBURGH - Fay Ashline has seen just about everything in her 46-year career at CVPH Medical Center.
But she is nowhere near finished reaching for more goals.
Ashline, director of the CVPH School of Radiology and manager of radiology services at the hospital, began her career at Physicians Hospital in October 1960, more than a decade before Physicians and Champlain Valley hospitals merged to form the modern-day CVPH.
"I love my work," she said as she relaxed for a moment in a lounge on the hospital's eighth floor, where the radiology school is located.
...
All radiology services except for mammography are now exclusively digital, and Ashline expects that service to be switched over within the next couple of years. In fact, that is one of the goals she has set before she considers retirement.
One of the accomplishments she is most proud of at the hospital is her role in moving the Women's Imaging Center to the CVPH Plaza near Smithfield Boulevard in 2001.
"It's a place where women can go that is private and pleasant," she said of the center.
...
First started in 1965, Ashline has been involved since 1975 and has seen many of the graduates move on to be successful technicians at CVPH and elsewhere.
"I'd say that 95 percent of our staff come from the school," she said.
...
Perhaps owning the longest streak on the job at CVPH, Ashline does not recognize the concept of slowing down. She's learned and grown with decades of advancements in radiology, and she's just not ready to stop now.
Fay and Joe Ashline have two children, Alisa Langille and Joseph Ashline, and four grandchildren.
