UDC National Obedience Trial Judge - Selma Ashley
Selma Ashley has been involved with dogs since 1949. Her first obedience dog was a Boxer by the name of Eric von Fresela Haus UD. It was during this time period that she also started teaching dog obedience classes. Following the Boxer, Selma had Am. Mex. CH. Marmeldon's Pacemaker PCE, UD, a Miniature Schnauzer. In 1966 Selma became an AKC approved Obedience Judge for all classes. Along came a Shetland Sheepdog, Merriley's Mike McAshley UD. Selma is now competing with a Border Terrier, U-UD Sandi's Ben Nevis UD, CG, TDI, CGC. Selma is an AKC, UKC, SKC, and Australian Shepherd Club Obedience Judge and continues to hold training classes. Selma resides in Whittier, CA. -

WHITTIER -- Selma Ashley, an American Kennel Club obedience judge, conducts dog-training classes at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the Whittier Senior Center parking lot, 13225 Walnut St.
Dog owners learn to control their animals by walking with a leash, heeling, coming when called, sitting, lying down, standing and staying on command, as well as behaving properly in the company of other dogs.
