   As an account executive for Cerrell Associates Inc. (CAI), Samara Ashley is responsible for developing public policy strategies as well as conducting public affairs campaigns and community outreach for CAI clients. Her areas of expertise include a significant knowledge of transportation and healthcare issues and she has also worked with cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach conducting outreach on various public policy issues.
   
   Prior to joining CAI, Samara worked as a district representative for State Senator Betty Karnette (D-Long Beach), where she was responsible for managing healthcare, labor, port and transportation related issues. Samara worked closely with the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Caltrans, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, along with other government agencies, community groups and labor organizations. She engaged with these agencies and organizations to address the environmental, trade and regional transportation needs of the district. In her role as a district representative, Samara was also responsible for planning community forums and overseeing constituent outreach.
