   Dr. Al Ashkar is an Ob/GYN and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She worked as a general manager for QAI regional office in Cairo for three years 2004-2006. During this period she succeeded to establish and grow the business in the Middle East. She is currently the technical advisor of the QAI regional office focusing more on developing the technical aspects QAI projects in the region. She graduated in the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in 1996. In addition to her successful medical practice, she pursued a career in management, marketing and business development. She worked as clinic manager for one of the major Obstetric Hospitals in Cairo for three years where she assisted in creating an electronic patient entry system, patient data base and surgical procedures recording system.

   Dr. Al Ashkar worked as a consultant for JHPIEGO, Johns Hopkins university affiliate in the capacity of Medical Coordinator for one of the major USAID projects in the area of Health, "The Health Workforce Development ", where she assisted in the strategic and action planning for the project, prepared and contributed in the curriculum development workshop, worked closely with the Supreme Counsel of Universities, worked as a liaison between the supreme counsel, the country project team and the Johns Hopkins team. In Addition, to her medical background and post graduate studies in OB/GYN, Dr. Al Ashkar has received intensive training in health care Quality management both in Egypt and USA. She is currently finishing her Mater degree Health Systems Management at George Mason University, Virginia, USA
