There was an interruption to the proceedings, which was not altogether welcomed by the incoming Chairman, Mike Arnold.I am sure that the story will live on for a long time, but I cannot tell it here (I just wish I took the camera as the pictures would have told the story better than I could!!).

Mike Arnold asked Hitesh to take the role of Area President once more for the 2002/03 year in the recognition and gratitude of the support he has shown table over the past year (and hope he will do so for the next).

I also give my thanks to the Area Exec who helped a new Exec member find his feet during a tough time, and special thanks to David Bird who encouraged me to join Exec and to my Area Chairman Mike Arnold who always supported and never gave up on me.

After a few short speeches from the hosting Table Chairman (Paul Jaggard - Ashford), Area Chairman (Mike Arnold) and the National President (Ken Donald), Hugh took to the stage!!

All guests were ushered into the Champagne reception to meet Area Chairman Mike Arnold and his partner Kate.

Area Chairman Mike Arnold kept up the recently established tradition of senior Area attendance at this meeting as Folkestone Tablers reflected on what had been a great year with record fundraising, the birth of the Area Children in Need event, a successful mixed, if challenging, programme and growth in membership.

Two new members were inducted and many speeches delivered.
