Joy Arnold is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in New York.Her practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property litigation, with emphasis on patent litigation involving the chemical and pharmaceutical arts.Drawing on her experience in and familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry, she has prepared, tried and argued cases involving the Hatch-Waxman amendments to the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the overlapping provisions of the patent laws (e.g., ANDA cases).She also has litigated matters involving mechanical and medical devices, food products, microprocessor architecture and semiconductor packaging.In 2000, Crain's New York Business profiled Ms. Arnold's litigation successes in its "Forty Under Forty: New York Rising Stars" feature.
Ms. Arnold received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she was an associate editor of the Law Review.She received her A.B. in Biology from Brown University and her M.A. from Wesleyan University.Prior to attending law school, Ms. Arnold was a Research Scientist in the Department of Cardiovascular Biochemistry of Bristol-Myers (now Bristol Myers Squibb).Ms. Arnold is admitted to the Bar in New York and numerous Federal Courts, including the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.Ms. Arnold also is admitted to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
