Rony Argi is the head of the investment banking division of HSBC, Israel, focusing on offering Israeli technology companies investment-banking services.This includes raising capital in international markets through, for example, IPOs and private placements, mergers and acquisitions as well as research coverage of key Israeli technology stocks.Prior to joining HSBC in September 1997, Mr. Argi worked for five years as a senior consultant/team leader at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Paris.Mr. Argi holds a scientific baccalaureate from Lycee Louis Le Grand in Paris, a business degree from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainbleau, France.The HSBC Group is one of the world's largest banking and financial services organisations.The Group has some 6, 000 offices in 81 countries and territories and assets of US $ 580 billion at 30 June 2000.HSBC Investment Banking and Markets brings together the advisory, financing, equity, securities, asset management, private banking and trustee, private equity, and treasury and capital markets activities of the HSBC Group.HSBC is to launch its operations in Israel early in 2001.HSBC's Tel-Aviv branch will focus on commercial and private banking.The Group will also offer investment banking services to Israeli technology companies.
