    Mr. Anderson graduated from Jal High School in 1940, earning honors as a state champion drummer.He went on to spend two years at Hardin Simmons University, where he was a member of the world famous Cowboy Band.He served his country during World War II in the US Army Air Corp and was a drummer in their band.After moving to Kermit in 1949, Walter became an active member of the Permian Basin community.He was a member of the Downtown Lions Club for 55 years.He was a member of the Odessa and Kermit Chambers of Commerce and an active member of the Ambassadors division in Kermit.He served on the KISD school board for 15 years.He was also involved in American Legion activities.
