   A native of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, she's been a waitress, a switchboard operator, a credit bureau employee, a singer in a traveling band, a clerk-typist, a collection correspondent for GMAC, a pilot, and she owned and operated the family business, Lafayette Electronics for 7 years. For the last 16 years Boots has been in her "real love," real estate. She worked for 13 years with Century 21, and for the last three years she has enjoyed being her own boss, as she owns and operates American Realty.
   
   Her hobbies have included singing tenor with the Sweet Adelines, riding and showing horses, raising animals, swimming, square dancing and bowling.
