   After Anderson retired in 1988, she became certified to teach ceramics in the Albuquerque Public Schools.

   Anderson sold her collages to galleries in Albuquerque and in Sedona, Ariz. Anderson entered fine art shows in Albuquerque, winning a national competition as well as placing high in a number of state contests. She was accepted into five shows by judges, qualifying as a signature member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society.

   Anderson was a member of the Palo Duro Senior Citizens' Center, where she gave free blood-pressure checks for more than five years. She also painted more than 50 portraits of center members. She was most noted for her artistic ability and her caring personality, Seery said. If anybody needed help, she'd help them.. Anderson underwent a quadruple heart bypass operation in 1998. She was regaining her strength when she suffered a stroke last spring. The Andersons were divorced in 1972. Vincent died in 1984.
