Vince Anderson is a third generation native to Colorado, climbed his first mountain at age five and started skiing at eight.Vince has guided both technical climbing and adventure backpacking trips in Alaska, South America, and Asia.His experience guiding includes technical rock and ice climbs, backcountry ski tours, and teaching numerous avalanche safety courses.Some of his favorite trips to guide are technical mountaineering ascents of high altitude peaks in the South American Andes.In his spare time, he is an avid climber and skier and as well as music aficionado and cook.He spends a great deal of time reading up on training, fitness and nutrition, all of which he takes very seriously.His greatest passion is alpine climbing and he usually does one significant alpine climb of his own each year.Besides putting up some fairly difficult climbs in the Ouray area, he competes in the Ice Climbing World Cup which has taken him to far off places like Russia, Italy, Quebec and elsewhere.In 2002 he placed sixth overall in the Ice Climbing World Championships held in Austria.
