It appears that author Tom Anderson was far from alone in facing his professional crossroads. He heard from friends in Atlanta and from many other MCA-I members across the land that had to fish or cut bait when their careers were disrupted.
In this month's follow-up, Tom shares his mail, which reveals just how resilient people can be when the calamity/opportunity of a career change presents itself.

Re-Inventing Myself Part Two: Your Stories by Tom Anderson
...
And, Tom, your story is nothing short of a fairytale ... magic and miracles notwithstanding!
I've been a freelance voiceover for nearly a quarter-century and have done hundreds of voice sessions for ITVA members and companies.Lots was uphill but as I tapped into the newer technology (ProTools, CakeWalk, SoundForge), I was in a large-bucks situation. Then, as in your case, the already-hurting economy followed by the incredible horror of 9/11 shot everything to a much higher/lower level.
Most of my freelance voice friends took the bait and went "corporate": Real Estate, Mortgage Banking, College Professorship, Taxi Driver, Unemployment.I believe most are doing well. However, my voiceover work was going as "south" as theirs and, frankly, Tom ...I was scared s--tless.
...
"Tom, I enjoyed your story in M2M.
