Tom Anderson, president of the Boilermakers Union and a Vietnam veteran who was wounded twice and was in the Tet Offensive in 1967-68, said this new war is stretching the concept of "veteran."

"We have a new type of veteran today - American people are all veterans trying to protect our homeland," Anderson. And they are on the front lines, as well."I can't think of a day in Vietnam where we lost 6,000 people."

"Today, the war is in this country, and we are all fighting for the same thing, peace and prosperity," Anderson said."This is not a union thing. This is not a company thing. This is a country thing."
