   Todd Anderson, AFL-CIO Midwest regional director, is taking part in an AFL-CIO delegation to Ukraine, where members of the group are meeting with their state federation/central labor council counterparts. Anderson will send several dispatches during the trip.
   
   Greetings from our delegation to Ukraine, where we are traveling as part of an AFL-CIO State and Local Labor Council Leadership Development Institute initiative in collaboration with the AFL-CIO Solidarity Center.
   
   Groups like ours have taken part in trips to 10 countries over the past several years, holding roundtable discussions and sharing movement-building strategies.

   That ratification vote now is postponed until Oct. 25, said Todd Anderson, Minnesota field representative for the AFL-CIO.
   
   "There was just no way, with the amount of work we had to do, to go out and present it to folks, give them time to mull it over, and give them time to react to it," Anderson said.
   
   The executive council of the Minnesota AFL-CIO reviewed the current outline for a New Alliance July 28. Presentations also are planned at the state AFL-CIO convention Aug. 11 and at each central labor body before the October convocation, Anderson said.

   Because the New Alliance structure could take effect this fall, Anderson said, terms of current executive council members will be extended until the October convocation.
