Dr Theresa Anderson, a senior lecturer of Creative Practices at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UTS, has replaced face-to-face lectures in the final third of the semester with podcasts after noticing that student attendance fell at the end of the semester.
The 20-minute interactive podcasts give the students the freedom to listen to the lectures where, when and how they want to and for as many times as they want to.
"You don't actually talk straight for 20 minutes - you [occasionally] invite the listener to stop the recording and go and do something, [like] look at a website," says Anderson.
