Terry Anderson

Terry Anderson is an experienced health care management professional, drawing from almost thirty years of hands-on successful performance as a leader, manager, consultant, and coach in virtually every health care delivery setting and organizational type. He combines a solid foundation in health care operations improvement, planning, goal-setting, organizational development, and change management, with a passion for continually improving the complete care delivery experience for patients, family, physicians, and staff. Having served in key roles for such organizations as Stanford Health Services (Stanford University Hospital and Faculty Practice Group), Baptist Healthcare, and Shepherd Center, Terry understands first-hand the challenges and tremendous opportunities facing health care providers as they seek to effectively carry out their vital missions. He has also held regional and national leadership positions for a number of leading health care consulting companies, giving him experience in structuring and delivering high impact, value added services to enhance all aspects of organizational performance. He also gained valuable experience evaluating provider organizations against Malcolm Baldrige National Quality criteria as an examiner for the Georgia Oglethorpe Association. Specializing in all aspects of cultural transformation, Terry has helped more than twenty hospitals (including acute, long-term, behavioral health, and rehabilitation hospitals) establish initial service and operational excellence programs. He has also provided coaching and consulting support to more than thirty additional hospitals, in academic, urban, and rural settings, as well as large and medium-sized physician practices and clinics. Terry is a frequent speaker and author on a wide variety of topics related to performance improvement. He is a strong advocate of the saying "You cannot manage what you do not measure", having assisted numerous organizations develop measuring tools and metrics to align their leadership, management, and staff to focus on strategies, goals, and tactics for success.
