...
NEW BRITAIN - The 2007 graduating class of E.C. Goodwin Regional Vocational Technical School is a special one to Principal Stephen Anderson. He came to the school four years ago, when the graduating seniors were freshmen."This is very much my class," Anderson said.
One hundred and seven students graduated Monday night at a ceremony in CCSU's Welte Hall.Several hundred friends and family joined them in filling the auditorium. Anderson has overseen several major changes at Goodwin Tech, the most noticeable of which was the general renovation of the school building.

"It also creates a professional environment," Anderson said. Two uniforms are issued: a department uniform, such as a dark blue jumpsuit, for automotive technology students, or a white chef's blouse for culinary arts students; and a schoolwide academic uniform.

The "Pirates" soundtrack played as images of the renovation were shown, as well as a confused-looking Anderson turning into boarded-off hallways. Goodwin's curriculum and style of education are designed to put students directly in the work force.
