   ,Anderson provided leadership to many organizations as president of the Chamber of Commerce, the St. Charles Community Chest, Rotary Club, the Kane County Livestock Association and the National Ice Cream Retailers. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 342. He also served as chairman of the Delnor Hospital Fund Drive and the Pottawatomi Indian Statue Committee. He served on the board of the American Red Cross Fox Valley Chapter for 30 years, the St. Charles School Board for three terms and the Augustana College Board. For his outstanding service to the community, he was presented the Charlemagne Award in 1977 and the St. Charles High School Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997.
