   Charlotte resident Scott Anderson, 40, recently bought a four-bedroom, 2,700-square-foot condo in the new Logging Horse Villas development as a retreat for his wife and their three kids. The condo features exposed beams, hardwood floors and granite countertops, as well as a screened living area with outdoor fireplace.
   
   "It's like a high-end condo mixed with a log cabin," said Anderson, who works as an insurance broker for Wachovia.
   
   Before buying there, Anderson and his wife looked at other mountain retreats, including some at Grandfather Mountain and Blowing Rock. But after visiting Mountain Air, they were sold.
   
   "There are very few communities that have Mountain Air's level of amenities," Anderson said.
