A team from Jackson State Community College has agreed to work with Jackson Sun Online Editor Scott Anderson to create a video resource. It will include extended interviews with eight local civil rights leaders. This will create a live oral and visual history. The Sun will place the video archive in each school, the teacher resource center, the Jackson-Madison County Library and local college and university libraries. The Jackson Sun has created a permanent online site at http://www.jacksonsun.com/ that will include everything published in the "October 1960" series as well as expanded content on many issues. Already online are additional personal remembrances from people involved in the civil rights movement. We are adding dozens of student essays written for the project.
