Sarah Anderson Sarah Anderson is originally from Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She attended Ball State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Theatre. Sarah moved to Chicago in 1998 where she taught preschool age children in a Head Start program in Humboldt Park. During the summer, she began a youth group and planned outings and community service activities. In 2001, Sarah began a case management position at Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. During her two years, she volunteered at after work functions and worked with the youth to create STAND, a magazine for the residents. Inspired by the youth, but seeking a more positive and lasting relationship, Sarah chose to dedicate her future to teaching in the Chicago Public School system.
