Sara Anderson Snow
Ms. Snow earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Fuels Engineering from the University of Utah and a Juris Doctor Degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.
Ms. Snow's legal practice includes all areas of intellectual property, particularly the preparation and procurement of patents.
While an undergraduate, Ms. Snow worked as an intern at a sensors and controls manufacturing plant where she learned various aspects of electrical, manufacturing, and industrial engineering; her work involved a focus on thickfilm printing and other innovative technological designs.She actively participated in multiple honor societies, and was recognized as Utah Engineer's Council Student of the Year.Her coursework at the University of Utah included advanced chemistry, physics and mathematics, thermodynamics, materials science, process engineering, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, reaction engineering, mass transfer and separation, process control, and air pollution control.
After graduating from the University of Utah, Ms. Snow worked for a nutritional company as the Research and Development Manager of the mineral and raw material processing division.She also taught mathematics courses at a nearby college during that time.
Ms. Snow became a Registered Patent Agent prior to entering law school and, while in school, she focused her coursework and extracurricular activities on Intellectual Property, including courses in patents, copyright, trademark, and technology licensing and auditing.She was also the President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association.
Her work experience during law school likewise focused on Intellectual Property, providing a broad range of exposure.She worked for the Technology Transfer, Copyright, and Creative Works Departments at Brigham Young University.She also worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to assess IP issues and helped obtain licenses on multiple items of artwork in preparation for a website launch.Additionally, Ms. Snow worked for a joint venture between the Italian government, universities, and local businesses in Italy to assess IP assets of three Italian Universities, design guidelines and methodologies for use in setting up a Knowledge Transfer Office, and prepare recommendations for an IP Management Master's course.Prior to becoming an associate at Thorpe North & Western, she worked for an in-house legal department of a relationship-marketing company, where she managed an international Intellectual Property portfolio.
Ms. Snow is a member of the Utah State Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the United States District Court for the District of Utah, and all Utah state courts.
