    LINCOLN, Neb. ­ USA Roller Sports¹ Executive Director, George Pickard, announced today that Ron Anderson will replace National Roller Hockey Director John Savickas effective Wednesday, March 1.

    Anderson, 32, is a native Geneva, Neb., and holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. According to Anderson, who graduated Phi Beta Kappa, his journalism focus concentrated primarily on marketing and advertising.

    Anderson, who most recently was involved in marketing/consulting in Lincoln, worked five years as an advertising representative for the Hastings (Neb.) Tribune, a daily newspaper in south central Nebraska. During his tenure with the Tribune, he also was instrumental in developing the "Whoopers & Hoopers" 5-on-5-basketball tournament in Hastings, which gives him solid background working with and coordinating sporting events at the grass roots level.

    In addition, Anderson also was an account executive for Alpha Graphics in Lincoln. While at Alpha Graphics, Anderson was involved with developing and marketing promotional materials for the Lincoln Stars ice hockey team. "I¹ve followed ice hockey ever since the "miracle on ice" at the 1980 Winter Olympics," said Anderson.
