   Ron Anderson is a visual artist and art consultant for Ron Anderson Studio, LLC. He is an oil painter and an art educator and has been a successful working artist for more than 20 years.    Ron resides in Columbus, Ohio with wife and business partner Robin Anderson, and their sons Christopher and Brandon.

   Ron is a commercial art instructor with The Columbus College of Art & Design and with Columbus Public Schools. Ron has served as an Art Consultant on several Public Art projects with art commissions that have included oil paintings, graphic design and illustration.
   
   Prior to working as a Commercial Art instructor, Ron worked as a Fashion Illustrator for the Halle's department store in Cleveland, Ohio and for the Lazarus department store in Columbus, Ohio. He also held the position of Fashion Illustrator and Art Director at the Corporate office of Madison's, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio.
   
   Ron served as a Regional Director for the Ohio Governor's Show/Governor's Youth Art Exhibition from 1994-2000 and on the Board of Directors of the Worthington Arts Council from 1990-1992. Ron's biographical information/photograph was included in the 2004 edition, the 2006 edition, and the 2007 edition of "Who's Who in Black Columbus." This publication recognizes and highlights the positive achievements of African-Americans. Ron is a member of the Ohio Art League.
   
   Ron Anderson has developed a recognizable style of distinctive artwork and continues to devote time to his oil paintings. His paintings are included in several corporate art collections. He was commissioned to create an oil painting for the Absolut Spirits Company, 3rd Annual Art Collection entitled "Absolut Expressions" and two portraits of George Washington Williams that are currently housed in the Ohio Statehouse.
   
   His most recent art commission involved creating six oil paintings for The Supreme Court of Ohio in the Ohio Judicial Center that depicts the "Rule of Law." The paintings are on display on the 11th floor outside of the Law Library in the Law Library Gallery. Ron Anderson's oil paintings are also included in the permanent art collections of the Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Ohio, and The King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio.
   
   His triptych entitled "Cargo" is the centerpiece of an interactive installation at The King Arts Complex entitled "Cargo: The Middle Passage."

   "Ron Anderson is an oil painter and art educator. He teaches Commercial Art courses at The Columbus College of Art & Design and for Columbus Public Schools. Ron was a nominee for the 2005 Governor's Awards for the Arts in Ohio in the Individual Artist category.

   Ron is very protective of his artwork and does not agree to license the use of his images without careful consideration. He was very pleased however, to participate in this project.    The "Cargo" triptych was acquired in 2005 by The King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio. They will be recognized in the Photo Credit section of the book.

   Ron is participating in the Columbus College of Art & Design Faculty Exhibition that will be showcased at the Canzani Center Gallery. The Opening Reception is scheduled for 9/29/06 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m.
   
   The CCAD Faculty Exhibitions feature the faculty member artwork in many disciplines such as fine arts, multi-media video and film, industrial and product design, commercial graphic and Web design, advertising, interior and fashion design, photography, illustration , and the liberal arts.
   
   Ron has included two oil paintings for the exhibit and has always looked forward to participating in the biennial event. He displayed his "Cargo" triptych in the 2001 exhibition and generated quite a buzz about the artwork. The triptych was acquired last year by the King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio and is now included in their permanent art collection.
   
   One of the paintings that Ron submitted for the show is entitled " Not Amused". This title is a wonderful play on words and takes dead aim at those times that an artist goes into the studio, and stands before a blank canvas and draws a "blank". Ron said he painted this piece to depict times when his "Muse" deserted him !

   Ron has a family member living in New York and I can recall how concerned we were for his welfare, for the welfare of his family, and for all of the people who were in the vicinity of the Towers when they were attacked.
   
   As we watched the news coverage, it was difficult to understand how anyone could wreak so much devastation and cause so much harm.
   
   Ron was the featured artist on The Art List web site The Art List in February 2005. He spoke about painting "9/11-9:11-911" in the interview session/article that is displayed next to his painting.

   Ron, our two sons and I attend concerts together and I spotted some of Ron's sketches this week, from last season.
   
   Ron takes a sketchbook along to each of the concerts we attend and draws whatever captures his imagination from architecture to patrons.
