   "Even if only 50% of the remaining outstanding bid proposals are successful", says Anderson "the economic impact on the territory will be well over $1 million". With the positive response the tool has been receiving, Anderson is optimistic the success rate may even be higher than this.
   
   "In addition, the kit has allowed Yukoners, identified through our Local Hero program, to pitch more of their own contacts to host meetings in the territory", said Robin Anderson, Director, Sales and Marketing for the Yukon Convention Bureau.
   
   "That's a significant difference. We now have a tool that the people of the territory can be really proud of to go to their own associations and groups with. We have been able to launch more bids than ever before."
   
   In addition, the YCB and Tourism Yukon have just created a special fund intended to pay one-half the costs of approved groups for travel to make bids to their associations to host meetings and conventions in the territory.
   
   "At a time when the world economy seems really to be struggling, this is really a good news story," says Anderson.
   
   The kit is unique in the industry, but Anderson says a dramatic pitch is necessary to introduce the Yukon with a splash to groups who may not have thought of the territory as a meeting venue.
