Graphic design professor Reid Anderson will share his knowledge and expertise with the rest of the world early next year when his first book is published.
A professor at Durham College for nine years, Anderson has aspired to write a textbook for awhile. He began by researching how to write a proposal, and then sent his ideas to several individuals in the industry, although not many companies publish graphic arts books.
About one year ago, Anderson received an e-mail from an individual at Thomson Delmar Learning in the United States, asking if he would be interested in reviewing a proposal for a Package Design course textbook.
"I asked the representative if they would take a look at my book proposal and she gave me the name of the acquisitions editor," he explained."Before too long, I had been offered a contract to write the book."
Anderson is currently working on chapter six of a 12-chapter book.
