Owner/President : Ray Anderson
...
Ray Anderson Picture Ray Anderson started into the Marine business as a service technician at the age of 18. After working for a Nashville boat dealership for several years, Ray began his own service business out of his home. He developed a large clientele, and began renting a small garage to service more boats. Ray started selling a few outboards, bass boats and pontoons, and before he knew it he outgrew that little garage. In 1993 Ray built a new facility and moved Anderson Marine into the current location just off Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison.
...
In addition to running the business, Ray also runs the Formula One P.R.O.P. Powerboat Racing Tour. Ray has been involved in boat racing as long as he has been involved with boats. At each race event a full Yamaha Outboard display is set up - promoting the Yamaha TRP (twin rotating propeller), a Yamaha four-stroke motor in a test tank, and a variety of small and hi-performance outboards.
Living life to its fullest is his philosophy and boats are the centrifugal force. Ray started in the boat business because he enjoyed boating, and that remains his goal - to sell quality marine products and teach the retail customer how they too can enjoy the benefits of boating, fishing, and watersports. -

"Customers will be the real losers because they might have to pay higher prices," said Ray Anderson, owner of the Madison boat dealership Anderson Marine Inc. and a supporter of Yamaha in the dispute.
...
Anderson, for example, said a 150-horsepower Mercury motor retails for $8,100.
...
Anderson, for example, said his dealership took to calling Mercury's OptiMax brand motor "Opti-Pop," due to the number of powerheads that blew up on the water. Not so with Japanese brands, Anderson says.
"Yamahas hold up so well. People have realized that's the brand they want to buy now," he said.
...
Anderson expects higher prices on Japanese and Mercury motors.
"Customers will be the ones getting the shaft because this will drive the price up on all of the motors," Anderson said. -
