About Peter Anderson
Peter is Zimbabwean and after university in Cape Town and teaching geography in a high school in his home-town of Bulawayo, he served on staff with the Students' Christian Association in South Africa. In 1972 he began 3 years of theological study in the UK at London Bible College. Together with Geralyn his first wife, Peter served with OMF in Taiwan from 1976 until 1982 when he transferred to Hong Kong as Coordinator for OMF's China Program. From 1987 he served as the Director of the Friends of China Foundation, and in 1990 he and his late wife taught English in China. In 1991, during a sabbatical in London, Peter did the research for his book "Weapons of Peace", based on the lives of his early missionary forebears in Africa (set in the period 1799-1852). Since 1992 Peter has served as the International Director of the Jian Hua Foundation, a HK-based charitable NGO, which aims to serve the peoples of China through education, medicine, social service, relief and development. Geralyn was "called home" in 1998 after a 14-month battle with cancer, and Peter married Elizabeth in Auckland, New Zealand in March 2000.
