   Rosemount High School staff members and students wrote about how much they would miss Nancy Anderson (and her delicious cookies) even before she retired from the school's food service manager position March 31, putting the icing on a 26-year career in food service for District 196 schools.
   
   Several teachers who wrote in support of Nancy's nomination for a 2005-06 Outstanding Employee Service Award commented on how she helped make activities "special" for the students, bringing by fresh-baked cookies unexpectedly or flawlessly handling the food service component of a classroom activity.
   
   Probably the sorriest to see Nancy leave are the teachers and students in Rosemount's Work Experience Program. For the past several years Nancy allowed the program to use the school's kitchen as a training ground for teaching job skills to special needs students. And she did so with open arms, according to Denise Sullivan, Work Experience coordinator.
   
   "Nancy arranged a variety of job tasks that our kids can handle, she encouraged their performance and she rewarded them in numerous ways," Sullivan wrote.

   Many of those students contributed comments in support of Nancy's nomination, including one from Jessica, who said, "Nancy always has a smile on her face.

   Nancy started with the district in 1980 as a part-time food service associate at Echo Park Elementary. During her first 11 years she worked in the cafeterias at Rosemount High, Greenleaf Elementary, Dakota Hills Middle, and one year in the district's central kitchen at Eagan High. In 1991, Nancy returned to Rosemount High and "transformed our food service program into one of the finest around," Conboy wrote.
