Could someone bring me up to speed on Mayor Nancy Anderson and why she advocates the Rea Road extension?I think she probably deserves her own separate post…. dedicated to all things Nancy.
I need some information fast, to bring me up to speed on her politics.I know that she is in favor of The Woods since they are going to pave a short stretch of the Rea Road extension. What is her personal interest in this? Also what was her views on the widening of Providence Road?
...
I know Mayor Anderson reads the Scribe, if for no other reason that she tells others not to and they've told me.
Perhaps, she'll answer your query.
Many people, including her own council and the neighboring towns have not been persuaded thus far.
But that's not to say that Ms. Anderson is battling by herself. She has the full and unbridled support of the Union County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, NCDOT and the airport land investment group.

Mayor Nancy Anderson called our board president to ask if she could come speak at our annual board meeting this past Sunday.Against our bylaws, our board President allowed her to come speak at our meeting, without putting it on the agend 30 days prior to our meeting. She said she was coming to answer questions about the proposed pump station and The Woods development which is going in next door to Aero Plantation.Once she was allowed to come up and speak, she advised everyone that she didn't know anything about the pump station and had no influence on water/sewer.She said that if The Woods doesn't come in next door than something else will, and that gravity sewer lines are on the Master Plan in Union County to come through Aero Plantation.
So more or less I guess she was saying that this wonderful neighborhood of million dollar homes is coming in next door and the only way this can happen is with a pump station, and the Rea Road extension rides on the pump stations approval. She also said the entire project could have been jeopardized by the woman on the PWAB who asked Infinity Partners to pay her $37,000 to influence the Union County Board of Commissioners into approving the pump station. Why was Weddington's Mayor at our little annual board meeting?I'm not sure why, but I'm guessing that she had a captive audience to listen to her advocating Rea Rd and she wanted to get a few resident's ear on this topic. She wasted 30 minutes of our 2 hour meeting.
