   Minnesota Senator Mark Dayton pumps E85 for Merle Anderson a retired farmer from Climax, Minn., at East Grand Station in East Grand Forks on Saturday morning.

   Merle Anderson, of Climax, Minn., stood outside his vehicle with a smile on his face Saturday morning as his gas tank was filled and his windows were washed.
   
   He was waiting to shake the gas attendant's hand.

   "I'm saving about nine bucks on this deal," Anderson said.
   
   Anderson, a retired farmer, has been using E-85 as much as possible over the past five years. He's been involved with marketing ethanol as a fuel source for the last 27 years.
   
   As one of the founders of the American Coalition for Ethanol, Anderson said he'd much rather be supporting the local economy by using the ethanol blend.
   
   "I didn't spend $10 that would go to fund some terrorist group," he said.
   
   Anderson's wasn't the only car in line waiting to be fueled.

   Anderson created another blend altogether, by fueling up with a mix of about 30 percent E-85 and 70 percent regular gasoline, in his own vehicle.
