   "The system disperses the DIRECTV® service through monitors embedded in the seatbacks of each passenger seat to allow each passenger to watch a different channel while in flight," explained Matt Anderson, program manager at Jet Aviation Engineering Services. "We designed, engineered and certified the structural rack which holds the Live TV system equipment. In addition, we provided on-site support for the installation of the rack, which will be installed into the JetBlue fleet of aircraft." According to Anderson, the 68-inch-wide by 27-inch-high rack was designed to fit the width and height of each aft cargo bay in the Airbus aircraft. The newly engineered structure was created to be interchangeable between the Airbus 320 and Airbus 319 aircraft. "We had to obtain both supplemental type certificate (STC) and parts manufacturing authorizations (PMAs) from the FAA for the multiple installations to be performed. The entire certification process took approximately one year," said Anderson.
