Lucy has taken more than twenty cases to conclusion, either to verdict, summary judgment or though appeal.These cases have involved issues ranging from contract disputes to discrimination cases, including the appeal of a pregnancy discrimination case in which the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court's judgment in favor of a large hospital and the United States Supreme Court subsequently denied certiorari.

Lucy is active in Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (co-chair, Publications Committee) and Saint Anne's Catholic Church Choir.She is a Fellow of the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation, supporting programs including the award-winning Aspiring Youth Program, the Adopt-an-Angel Program and the Hunger Relief Campaign.

Lucy received her J.D. from Washington & Lee University in 1995 and her B.A. (magna cum laude) in French and Art from Washington & Lee University in 1989.

While in law school, Lucy served as president of the International Law Society and was responsible for managing the Jessup International Moot Court competition.She was also awarded first prize in the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition in 1994.As an undergraduate, Lucy was a member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society.
