   Lowell Anderson, '46, received the college's Distinguished Service Award for exemplary service to the college, its alumni association and the engineering profession. A civil engineer, Anderson spent more than 40 years at BP/Amoco, retiring in 1988 as the director of transportation and distribution. During his tenure at BP/Amoco, the company set a world record for building pipeline and expanded worldwide distribution systems. Anderson, who lives in Palos Park, Ill., is a member of the university's Chancellor's Club, President's Club and the NU Foundation's National Campaign Committee.
