Lowell Anderson
6/15/2004 - SHORELINE, Wash. - Lowell O. "Andy" Anderson, 86, of Edmonds, Wash., and Naples, Fla., died Friday (June 11, 2004) in Shoreline. He was born Jan. 11, 1918, in Falconer, the son of Emil and Alma Ruckman Anderson.
He received a bachelor's degree in physics from Cornell University. He had been employed as a civilian by the U.S. Navy in the Panama Canal Zone during World War II and China Lake, Calif. In 1950, he began working for the Office of Naval Research in Washington. He joined the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and worked at NASA headquarters in human factors engineering, retiring in 1972. Following retirement, he designed and built houses in East Sandwich, Mass. He was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels program in Sandwich, and in Naples.
He traveled in Europe and Israel.
