• Kudos to columnist Leigh Amiot
I'd like to say Kudos to Leigh Amiot for her piece on the 'important job which gets little respect'.She hit the nail on the head for those of us who stay at home, devoting our talents and energies to our families.I am constantly amazed at how acquaintances and even strangers feel free to tell me what I'd be better off doing with my time, rather than spending it with my family.I often wonder what their response would be to me if I began telling them how I feel that their families must be neglected based upon the time they spend with them. However, I know there is no good outcome to that conversation, so I hold my tongue.I do tell people that my children are a season in my life (hopefully I'll have many seasons!) and that there will be time, when they are grown, for me to do all those other 'lofty' things they think I should be doing now. But, like Ms. Amiot, I can't really think of another thing I could be doing that is more important than giving my children a good, secure, loving base from which to grow.
