San Francisco, CA - It was announced today that Archbishop George H. Niederauer has appointed Carlos Alvarez, Gloria Carlos, John A. Knight , James McCabe, Stephen Molinelli , Robert Morris, and Rev. Dr. Kenneth Weare to the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities CYO (CCCYO), one of the largest non-profit providers of social services in the Bay Area.

Carlos Alvarez is an attorney and founding member of Steyer Lowenthal Boodrookas Alvarez & Smith, LLP in San Francisco, and was previously with Leland, Parachini, Steinberg, Matzger & Melnick, LLP. He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco and the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to his active membership in the Bar Association of San Francisco, the State Bar of California and La Raza Lawyers Association, Alvarez has served on the St. Brendan Parish Advisory Board and as a youth baseball and basketball coach.
