Gregory C. Alvarado
Vice President
Mr. Alvarado is responsible for business development and strategic planning for metallurgy, reliability, corrosion, inspection, and FFS consulting, services, software and technology for chemical, refining and petrochemical facilities.
His areas of technical expertise include damage mechanism identification, shutdown workscope reviews using Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) techniques, materials selection, and group strategizing facilitation with a focus on strategies for existing/aging equipment.
His other areas of expertise include evaluation of NDE techniques for finding expected damage, mechanical integrity audits, inspection benchmarking, development and maintenance of engineering standards.
He has extensive experience working with plants and central engineering groups on a worldwide basis.
Mr. Alvarado is a specialist in RBI training and project management, and is a member of the API Sub-Committee on Inspection, a working member of the API group that created API 580, Risk-Based Inspection, and a member of the API team preparing test questions for API 571, Refinery Damage Mechanisms, and API 579, Fitness-For-Service.
He has extensive experience the in preparation and delivery of training courses and technical presentations, and has taught numerous industry-related courses to practicing engineers and technicians.
Mr. Alvarado is also the publisher of Inspectioneering Journal magazine.
