    Park District Commissioner Nickolas Allen suggested at the meeting that children should be warned about the dangers of the Kankakee River.

    He proposed a River Safety Training Program, which would be a cooperative effort between local police and fire departments, local school districts and the park district.

    "Training children how to be safe at the river is an invaluable contribution to the youth of our community," Allen said.

    Nickolas Allen, a park district commissioner, said he will attend the meeting to find out if there are any alternative locations other than the Perry Farm.
