Douglas Allen Joins Bio-Tech Imaging, Inc. as VP Sales & Marketing

(Frederick, MD) Bio-Tech Imaging, Inc., of Frederick, Maryland has appointed Douglas Allen to lead its sale and marketing activities.The company has developed and patented several processes aimed at providing the medical community with new ways to detect and monitor infectious diseases.The primary focus of the company's research and development has been on HIV-1, the virus that results in AIDS.The first product, the gp120 Tagger, is now in production and available.BTI's products use specific monoclonal antibodies to identify infected cells that are replicating the virus.

Mr. Allen brings 15 years of experience in Business Development, Sales and Marketing with an emphasis in medical products and service.His expertise centers on developing and implementing comprehensive business plans, strategic marketing, new product introductions and sales team development and distribution networks.

Mr. Allen has been a key contributor in three start-ups and a successful turnaround in the healthcare/medical industries.In these pursuits, Mr. Allen has interacted with research centers, clinical laboratories, university hospitals, medical facilities, hospital buying groups and government facilities.

Since 1986, Mr. Allen has held senior level sales and marketing positions with medical product companies including HealthCheck, MedScand and Cancer Diagnostics, where he was responsible for the successful introduction of new technologies including the first cuffless blood pressure monitor, monolayer slide preparation techniques and new screening tools for processing body fluids and exfoliated cancer cells.Prior to joining Bio-Tech Imaging, Mr. Allen successfully established the David Drew Clinic, an upscale facility specializing in screenings targeting the early detection of cancers, stroke and heart disease.
