   The revelations came as Darren Aldrich, media relations manager for the NHS Counter Fraud and Security Management Service confirmed that they had launched an investigation into UC24 after receiving allegations of fraud.
   
   When asked whether the allegations were in relation to falsifying performance figures and data being massaged, he said at this stage the investigation was "too sensitive" and it would not be appropriate to comment.
   
   Mr Aldrich added: "While I can confirm that we are investigating a fraud allegation made against UC24, this listening device is nothing to do with the NHS and nothing to do with our investigation."
