   Dr Aldred was Secretary and Registrar of Queen Mary and Westfield College until his retirement in October 2002.He holds a degree in Physics from Cambridge and in Operational Research from Lancaster University, and is a qualified accountant.His career includes posts at HM Treasury, the National Audit Office, and the Natural Environment Research Council.He is continuing in his role as a director of a number of College companies as well as a Trustee of a major charity.
