Elaine initially graduated with a degree in biochemistry and chemistry from Sheffield University.She has since qualified as a chiropractor with the Anglo European Chiropractic College, as an acupuncturist with the British College of Acupuncture and as a Western Medical Herbalist with the College of Phytotherapy.She qualified in Chinese herbal medicine with the Northern College of Acupuncture.
She is module leader and lecturer for the pharmacognosy and dispensing and pharmacology and toxicology courses and also lectures in western medicine, nutrition and the patents course at the Northern College of Acupuncture.
She has lectured for the College of Chiropractors and Postgraduate GP courses on complementary medicine.
She is a peer reviewer for Clinical Chiropractic, published by Elsevier.
She has written A Guide to Starting Your Own Complementary Therapy Practice.Churchill Livingstone.Elsevier (Published November 06) and Pharmacology.A Handbook for the Complementary Healthcare Profession.Churchill Livingstone.Elsevier (to be Published next year).She is currently writing a text book on the biochemistry of nutrition.
