Under the leadership of Bob Alderink, Verizon was the first major corporate supporter of the initiative by the Texas Logistics Education Foundation (TLEF) to bring logistics education to North Texas.
More than well-intended talking, Bob has been an active agent for making logistics education a reality. Through his vision and courage, Verizon has donated at least $150,000 in direct support for the Center for Logistics Education and Research (CLER) at the University of North Texas, and an additional $50,000 in direct scholarships to undergraduate logistics majors.
Further, under Bob's direction, Verizon has provided logistics internship opportunities for at least 20 students, and has hired at least 15 graduates into permanent full-time positions in Verizon's logistics operations group. This in turn is leading Verizon to its next generation of logistics management excellence.
