   Richard Alder, state duty officer at the DSE, said that the fires have been caused by lighting strikes, although there was little or no rainfall when they occurred.
   
   Mr Alder stated that the department is expecting to be deal with more fires in the immediate future, as thunder is forecast for the next three days at least.
   
   "We are certainly expecting more fires to start from lightning in the next few days and have our people out there ready to respond," he said.
