   STURBRIDGE, Mass. - Old Sturbridge Village announces the appointment of Todd Alden as Executive Chef of the new Tavern at Old Sturbridge Village, effective immediately. Working with newly appointed Director of Food Services Jay Visnjic, Alden will be responsible for creating menus and food opportunities that extend interpretation of 19th-century foodways for the outdoor living history museum, in Sturbridge, Mass.

   Alden has been Sous Chef at the Tavern at OSV from December 2001 through December 2002, when he took over responsibilities as acting Executive Chef. His excellent work in both of these roles has earned him high regard and promotion to the Executive Chef position. Alden's previous experience includes positions as Evening Sous Chef at Trumball Kitchen in Hartford, Conn., and Sous Chef and Assistant Kitchen Manager at Metacomet Country Club in East Providence and the Tyler Point Grille in Barrington, R.I. Currently residing in Vernon, Conn., Alden holds degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I.
