Janell Alden graduated from Duke University in 2000 with a major in Sociology and a minor in German and Business Administration. During her first two years of medical school at the University of Maryland , she gave health talks in West Baltimore, coordinated volunteers within the University of Maryland Adolescent Medicine Clinic , and organized free glaucoma screenings. She then took a leave of absence from school to live and work for eight months as GHEI's Health Project Manager Intern from July, 2005- March, 2006. She will graduate from medical school in 2007 and begin a residency program in Pediatrics. -
