   Stewart is currently Regional Director, Asia, for Noble Investments. He has been based in Hong Kong since 1985, and held a variety of senior positions with Schroders (1985 to 1989), HSBC AssetManagement (1989 to 1994), Franklin Templeton (1994 to 1999), Standard Chartered Bank (1999 to 2000), and Investec Asset Management (2000 to 2003), joining Noble Investments in 2004. He served on the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association Executive Committee formany years, and was also on the AIMA Hong Kong Chapter Committee.
   
   Stewart is a regular speaker at asset management industry conferences throughout Asia and globally. He contributesmany articles to trade, professional and Asian region publications. He is a regular commentator about fund industry relatedmatters, investmentmarkets and related activities on radio, TV and through the Press. He is particularly well known for his role in opening up the Singaporemutual fundmarket in 1995-96 with new innovative products, and also for his knowledge of the fundmarket in China.
   
   In 1997, in recognition of his contribution to the Hong Kong fund industry, he was awarded the South ChinaMorning Post, FundManager of the Year Awards - StrategicMarketing Award. In 1998 he was awarded FundMarketer of the Year byGlobal Fund News, an Institutional Investor publication.

   It has hired Stewart Aldcroft to run its Asian structured products business.
   
   Noble Investments, a Zurich-based boutique manager of structured products and hedge funds with $1 billion of assets is applying for an investment advisory licence from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission in order to start business here.
   
   The firm has just hired Stewart Aldcroft as regional director and he will oversee a small team of four people in Hong Kong and one in Shanghai to develop a distribution and client base.
   
   Aldcroft is a longstanding member of the Hong Kong funds industry, having worked in the Territory since arriving with Schroder Investment Management in 1985. His resume includes business development at HSBC Asset Management, Franklin Templeton and Investec, as well as a brief stint on the distribution side at Standard Chartered Bank. He left Investec in 2003 to take a break, but could not resist the itch and has left his quasi-retirement to join Noble.
   
   "I wasn't keen on returning to the traditional fund management business," he says.
